Nhat Linh NGUYEN

Dr Nguyen Nhat Linh is currently working as a medical officer at the Global Tuberculosis Programme, World Health organization Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Linh graduated as a general practitioner in Vietnam and he received postgraduate clinical training in tuberculosis (TB) and lung diseases at Hanoi Medical University. He obtained Master of Science in public health from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London and PhD in medical epidemiology from the University of Sydney.

Linh is a medical and public health expert with more than 25 years of experience working in Vietnam and internationally. He started his career in Vietnam, working as a physician at the National Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases and an implementer of the National TB Programme. He spent 4 years conducting TB epidemiological research in Sydney, Australia for his PhD. He joined WHO in 2008 – firstly, as a WHO technical advisor on TB and leprosy for countries in the South Pacific region (based in Fiji Islands) – and since 2012, as a medical officer at the WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Linh is experienced in public health research, development of global health policy and guidance, and provision of technical support to countries on the implementation of national health programmes, especially on management of tuberculosis.
